The Isle of Man, Ellan Vannin in Manx Gaelic, is a self governing Crown dependency in the Irish Sea between Ireland and Great Britain.

Roughly 14 miles wide and 32 miles long it has a rich history being inhabited since 6,500BC.  The island's parliament, Tynwald, has been in continuous existence since 979 or earlier, making it the oldest continuously governing body in the world.

It is also where my family is from and where I grew up.
